Good product, good way

What is the difference between a permanent magnet generator and an exciter?

First, refer to different

  1. Permanent magnet generator: refers to a power generation device that converts mechanical energy converted from thermal energy into electrical energy.
  2. Excitation generator: The excitation power of the traction generator on the electric-drive diesel locomotive is large. The excitation power source specially provided to provide the excitation current is the excitation generator.

Second, the principle is different

  1. Permanent magnet generator: It is both a magnetic source and a component of the magnetic circuit in the motor. The magnetic properties of permanent magnets are not only related to the manufacturing process, but also to the shape and size of the permanent magnets, the capacity of the magnetize and the method of magnetization. The specific performance data are highly discrete. Moreover, the magnetic flux and magneto motive force that the permanent magnet can provide in the motor also vary with the material properties, dimensions and motor operating conditions of the rest of the magnetic circuit.
  2. Excited generator: The voltage at the generator terminal is input to the measuring unit after reduced by the voltage transformer. After the voltage signal is measured and compared in the measuring unit, the voltage deviation is input to the intermediate amplifier unit to be amplified and used as the phase shift unit, the control voltage changes the trigger pulse phase angle of the trigger unit accordingly, thereby changing the control angle of the thyristor and the excitation voltage value of the AC exciter.
