Six Rules to Using Shackles Safely

The shackle is widely used in lifting operation. It is a lightweight and flexible connection part. The shackle can be used to link the lifting tackle and slings. The user needs to note that the following rules in the use of shackles:

  1. When using shackles, never overload.
  2. In order to prevent the lateral force of the shackle, when linking the rope or the ring, one of them should be sleeved on the pin and the other on the shackle body. It is not allowed to load both on sections of the shackle body respectively. .
  3. After lifting operation is completed, remove the shackle in time, insert the pin into the shackle body, and fill it with threads to ensure that the shackle is intact.
  4. The threaded part of the shackle should be oiled regularly to ensure its lubrication does not rust.
  5. Shackles should be stored in a dry place, better be packed with woven bags.
  6. It is not allowed to use the shackle without thread. If it is used, there must be reliable safeguards to prevent it from slipping out.

When using the shackle for lifting operations, you need to pay attention to the above six points to ensure the safety. In future articles, we will continue to introduce the relevant knowledge about slings, hoping to help you solve problems encountered in the operation.
