Classification There are two types of wood chippers: fixed and mobile. Fixed type is mostly used in factories; mobile type is generally used in mountain farms in forest areas. There are two types of drum chipper and disc chipper according to the structure of the working part. According to the feeding method, there are two types of oblique and flat feed. ① Drum chipper. It is mainly used for cutting branches, small-diameter wood, veneer, and slats with a diameter or thickness of less than 120 mm. The cut wood chips are used as raw materials for fiberboard and pulp. The cutting mechanism is a rotating drum, and a number of flying knives are installed on the cutting wheel. When the flying knives rotate, the wood is processed into craft wood chips. There are multiple square through holes on the outer edge of the drum to allow the wood chips to be smoothly discharged. The feeding mechanism is composed of a feeding interface, an upper and lower feeding roller, and a feeding gap adjustment mechanism. Press and feed to the cutting mechanism at a certain speed to control the size of the cut wood chips; when processing thick wood, it is adjusted by the feed gap adjustment mechanism. After the wood chips are screened, the larger ones must be pulverized again between the blade and the baffle. The quality of wood chips cut by this chipper is low.
② Disc chipper. It consists of cutter head, cutter, bedknife, cutter blade, etc. The front of the cutter head has grooves for cutting inserts, which are arranged at an angle of 10 ° to 15 ° in the radial direction. The bottom of the blade is provided with a wedge-shaped adjustment block to adjust the extension amount of the blade; the rear is provided with a distance adjustment block to adjust the compensation length of the blade after sharpening. There is a through gap in the cutter head along the direction of the blade, and the cut wood chips can be transferred to the other side of the cutter head. Blades are evenly arranged on the outer edge of the cutter head. The air flow generated by the blades blows out the wood chips from the discharge port. After screening, the excessively large particles enter the crusher. This machine has three types of knife, multi-knife and spiral surface cutter. The first two types of chips have poor uniformity. The spiral surface cutter type chipper is in contact with the cutter surface during the cutting process. The pressure is small, the wood chips are neatly cut, there are less broken wood chips, and the cutter head has less wear. The length of the cut wood chips is consistent, and the qualified rate of the cut wood chips can reach about 97%.
