Definition

Induction type automatic wiper Intermittent wiper is a sheet structure installed in front of the windshield. It consists of a motor, a reducer, a four-link mechanism, a wiper arm spindle, and a wiper blade assembly. Its main function is to remove obstacles from the windshield Rain and snow and dust in sight. Intermittent wipers, also known as wipers, wipers, wipers or windshield wipers, are devices used to wipe off raindrops and dust attached to the windshield of vehicles to improve driver visibility and increase driving safety.

Features

The inductive automatic wiper automatically adjusts the speed of the wiper by sensing the amount of rainfall. The working principle of the rain sensor is that the light-emitting diode sends a light beam to the front windshield. The light scattering phenomenon between the glass and the raindrops is used to determine the amount of rainwater on the glass by the intensity of the light reflected from the light beam. If a drop of water is sensed, the wiper will start to move, and the wiper’s operating speed will be automatically adjusted according to the amount of rainfall at the time, so that the driver does not need to manually operate the brain, which is convenient and safe. With the advancement of technology, more and more models are equipped with rain-sensitive automatic wipers. This new type of wiper can greatly improve the convenience and safety of driving in rainy weather. It was originally only equipped on high-end cars, and it is developing from high-end cars to mid-range cars.

When the sensor detects that rainwater has fallen on the windshield, it instructs the wiper to start working, and the rainwater on the front windshield of the car is cleared to ensure the driver’s vision. At the same time, an instruction to automatically close the power windows and power sunroof of the vehicle must be issued to prevent the interior of the vehicle from being wet by rain.

Function and characteristic

When the sensor detects that rainwater has fallen on the windshield, it instructs the wiper to start working, and the rainwater on the front windshield of the car is cleared to ensure the driver’s vision. At present, the two mainstream sensors that are widely used are optical sensors and capacitive sensors.

Optical sensor
It works according to the principle of refraction of light. In the optical sensor is a light-emitting diode that emits a cone of light that passes through the front windshield. When there is no rain on the windshield and it is dry, almost all of the light will be reflected to an optical sensor; when it rains, there will be rain on the windshield, and some of the light will deviate. The sensor receives a change in the total amount of light and thus detects the presence of rain. The larger the area where the optical sensor can receive the reflected light, the more detailed the information obtained. Optical sensors are very accurate, and it is even possible to accurately determine the number of raindrops falling on the area being sensed.

Capacitive sensor
It is mainly designed using the huge difference between the dielectric constants of water and glass, where the dielectric constant of water is 80 and the dielectric constant of glass is 2. The usual method is to place two parallel finger metal plates between the inner and outer layers of the windshield. A group of finger metal plates are interlaced, but do not touch the other finger metal electrodes. board. When the windshield is dry, a dielectric is formed between the outer surface of the windshield and each set of finger metal plates. When the windshield gets wet, the dielectric constant of the windshield changes according to the amount of water in contact with the windshield. If the sensor is installed on the surface of the windshield or close to the lower surface of the windshield, it is advantageous for the sensor to work, because such an installation enables the sensor to exert its best sensitivity. Disadvantageously, installing the capacitive sensor on the outer surface of the windshield will cause the same problem as the resistance sensor, and its metal coating will be scraped off the windshield quickly under the long-term operation of the wiper.
