Automotive plastics are light in weight, feel good, and have a simple molding process, which can meet automotive requirements for light weight, comfort, and safety.


Automotive plastics use synthetic resin as the main material, and add a certain amount of additives, which can be processed or molded under a certain temperature and pressure. Polyurethane foam, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, polypropylene, ABS, polyphenylene ether, and glass fiber reinforced acrylonitrile-styrene copolymers are used to make automotive plastics. Among them, polyurethane foam is the most important.


Polymer automotive materials have many advantages that traditional materials have not had before. It is mainly manifested in light weight, good appearance decoration effect, multiple practical application functions, good physical and chemical properties, easy processing and molding, energy saving, sustainable use, etc.

The disadvantages of automotive materials are rigidity, heat resistance, flammability, aging resistance, surface scratch resistance, and poor frost resistance.



It is widely used in automobile interiors, automobile structural parts and vibration-absorbing parts; it is widely used in automobile fuel tanks, bumpers, sun visors, seats, door handles, steering wheels, dashboards, etc.
