Function and role

I. Corrosion resistance
The corrosion resistance of pure aluminum is better than that of copper, but the corrosion resistance of aluminum alloy is better than that of pure aluminum, because the rare earth and other chemical elements can increase the corrosion resistance of aluminum alloy, especially the electrochemical corrosion resistance. Solve the problem of electrochemical corrosion of pure aluminum at the joint for a long time.

Mechanical properties
First, tensile strength and elongation. Compared with pure aluminum conductors, aluminum alloy conductors have added special components and adopted special processing techniques, which greatly improves the tensile strength, and the elongation is increased to 30%, making it safer and more reliable to use.

Second, bending performance. The bending performance of the aluminum core cable is very poor, and the bending is easy to break. The bending radius of the aluminum alloy power cable is 7 times the outer diameter of the cable, which is far better than the 10 specified in GB / T12706 “Minimum bending radius during cable installation”. -20 times the outer diameter of the cable.

Third, flexibility. As long as the pure aluminum cable is twisted a few times at a certain angle, the conductor will crack or break, which is easy to cause an accident. The aluminum alloy power cable can withstand dozens of bends, eliminating accidents that occurred during the installation and use of pure aluminum cables. Hidden dangers have greatly improved safety and reliability.

Third, the conductivity
Aluminum alloy conductor is an emerging conductor material formed by adding rare earth, magnesium, copper, iron and other elements to pure aluminum through an alloy process. As is known to all, after adding various other alloy elements to aluminum, the electrical conductivity will decrease, and through process control, the electrical conductivity can be restored to a level close to that of pure aluminum, so that it has a current carrying capacity similar to that of pure aluminum.

Fourth, creep resistance
Pure aluminum has poor creep resistance. The thermal expansion and contraction caused by power-on and power-off will cause large creepage at the connection, and after a long time, it will relax, increase contact resistance and cause overheating. The creep resistance of AA8000 series aluminum alloy is 300% of pure aluminum conductor, which greatly reduces the possibility of cable joint slack and improves the connection condition of the conductor.

Application

The good mechanical and electrical properties of aluminum alloy power cables make it widely used in various areas of the national economy, such as ordinary houses, high-rise buildings, elevators, large and small supermarkets, subways, airports, stations, hospitals, banks , Office buildings, hotels, post and telecommunications buildings, exhibition halls, libraries, museums, ancient buildings, schools, power buildings, public entertainment places, tunnels, underground buildings, warehouses, etc., can also be used in metallurgy, steel, coke, coal mines, Power plants, power transmission substations, shipbuilding, petroleum, chemical, pharmaceutical, nuclear power plants, aerospace, military, papermaking and other industries, as well as home appliances, automobiles, public transportation facilities, etc.
