Plastic pipes are generally made of synthetic resin, that is, polyester, with stabilizers, lubricants, plasticizers, etc., and processed by “plastic” method in a pipe making machine.
The main advantages of plastic pipes are good corrosion resistance, light weight, convenient molding, and easy processing. The disadvantages are low strength and poor heat resistance.
Plastic pipes are mainly used for piping of the water supply system, drainage, exhaust and sewage sanitary pipes, underground drainage pipe systems, rainwater pipes, and threading pipes for electric wire installation. Among non-metallic pipes, the most widely used are plastic pipes.
