Definition

Automobile oil-water separator is a kind of fuel filter, the main function of which is to remove the moisture in diesel oil, so as to reduce the fuel injection nozzle failure and extend the service life of the engine. The principle is based on the difference between the density of water and fuel oil, and a separator that removes impurities and moisture using the principle of gravity sedimentation. There are also separation elements such as a diffusion cone and a screen. The oil-water separator also has other functions, such as pre-heating the fuel to prevent wax formation and filtering impurities.

Features

1. Oily sewage is sent to the oil-water separator by a sewage pump. After passing through the diffusion nozzle, large particles of oil droplets float on the top of the left oil collecting chamber.

2. The sewage containing small oil droplets enters the corrugated plate coalescer in the lower part, where the oil droplets are aggregated into larger oil droplets to the right oil collecting chamber.

3. Sewage containing smaller particles of oil droplets passes through a fine filter, removes impurities from the water, and enters the fiber polymerizer in turn, so that the small oil droplets are aggregated into larger oil droplets and separated from water.

4. After separation, clean water is removed through the drain port, and the dirty oil in the left and right oil collection chambers is automatically removed through the solenoid valve, while the dirty oil separated in the fiber polymerizer is removed through the manual valve.

Function and characteristic

Models using high-pressure common rail engines also have higher requirements for diesel quality, because high-pressure injectors need precise control of injection pressure, injection time, and injection volume, so the workmanship is also more delicate. If there is water or impurities in the diesel oil and it is not filtered, it will cause wear and tear on the plunger parts in the injector until the injector becomes stuck. Damage to the fuel injector can cause unstable acceleration or weak acceleration of the engine, or failure to emit black smoke, which affects the normal operation of the vehicle.
