Definition

Reactors refer to high-voltage electrical appliances that are used by the power system to limit short-circuit current, stabilized voltage, reactive power compensation, and shifting based on their inductance. According to the presence or absence of the main iron core in the winding, it is divided into iron core type reactor and air core type reactor. According to the insulation medium, it can be divided into oil-immersed reactors and dry-type reactors.

Features

• Adopting epoxy resin formed solid insulation structure, three phase integrated, with silicon steel sheet as magnetic medium, framework structure composed of iron yoke, high fill factor iron column. Its coil is composed of multiple encapsulations and shunt wound with multi-strand flat copper conductor with small bore so as to effectively reduce the volume and loss.

• The reactor core and winding are not submerged into any liquid, its cooling mode is air self-cooling, free of oil leak and is convenient for manufacturing and maintenance.

• Multiple encapsulated reactor coil encapsulated chamber has axial heat emission air flue, with perfect heat dispersion.

• The reactor coil and iron core, after undergoing hot setting, have perfect electric insulation property and compact structure, with small installation dimension and space.

Function and role

(1) Alleviate the capacitive effect on no-load or light-load lines to reduce power frequency transient overvoltage.

(2) Improve the voltage distribution on long transmission lines.

(3) Make the reactive power in the line as balanced as possible at light load to prevent the unreasonable flow of reactive power, and also reduce the power loss on the line.

(4) When large units and systems are juxtaposed, the power-frequency steady-state voltage on the high-voltage bus is reduced to facilitate the juxtaposition of generators in the same period.

(5) Prevent the self-excitation resonance phenomenon that may occur on the generator’s long line.

(6) When the neutral point of the reactor is used for the small reactor grounding device, the small phase reactor can also be used to compensate the phase-to-phase and phase-to-ground capacitance of the line to accelerate the automatic extinguishment of the latent supply current and improve the success rate of the line automatic reclosure.

Principle

The single-phase reactor iron core structure is a single-core two-sided column structure, and the three-phase reactor iron core structure is a glyph-shaped core and a coil iron structure. The reactor core consists of a core cake and an air-gap block. The iron core cake is made by stacking high-quality cold-rolled silicon steel sheets. The core cake adopts radial radial lamination, so that the magnetic flux enters the silicon steel sheet side, and the longitudinal preferred magnetization direction of the silicon steel sheet is selected to be parallel to the axis of the core post, so as to reduce the magnetic field lines due to edge effects when leaving and entering the core cake. The resulting eddy current is lost. Many iron core cakes use flat round porcelain pillars or marble round blocks as gaps. Iron core cakes and gaps are alternately stacked and tightened with antimagnetic screws. In the alternating magnetic field, the electromagnetic force causes vibration and noise between the iron core cakes, so the pressing device of the iron core type reactor is very important. The discus and iron chokes should be grounded, and the iron chokes and the side pillars should be tied with epoxy glass fiber tape.

Structure

The oil immersed reactor is mainly composed of an iron core, a winding and its insulation, an oil tank, a casing, a cooling device and a protection device.
