Definitions and materials

Fog lights generally refer to automotive fog lights. Car fog lights are installed at the front and rear of the car and are used to illuminate roads and safety warnings when driving in rainy and foggy weather. Improves visibility of drivers and surrounding traffic participants.

Rear fog lights for vehicles refer to red signal lights that are installed at the rear of vehicles to make it easier for other road traffic participants behind the vehicle to find them in low visibility environments such as fog, rain, or dust.

It is installed in the front of the car slightly lower than the headlights, and is used to illuminate the road when driving in rain and fog. Because visibility is low in foggy weather, the driver’s line of sight is limited. The light can increase the running distance, especially the strong light penetration of the yellow anti-fog light. It can improve the visibility of the driver and the surrounding traffic participants, so that the incoming car and pedestrians can find each other at a distance.

Classification

Anti-fog lights are divided into front fog lights and rear fog lights. The front fog lights are generally bright yellow, and the rear fog lights are red. The logo of the rear fog lamp is a little different from the front fog lamp. The light lines of the front fog lamp logo are downward, and the rear fog lamp is parallel, which is generally located on the instrument console in the car. Since the anti-fog lamp has high brightness and strong penetrability, it will not cause diffuse reflection due to fog, so correct use can effectively prevent accidents. In foggy weather, the front and rear fog lights are usually used together.

Red and yellow are the most penetrating colors, but red stands for “No Traffic”, so yellow is chosen. Yellow is the purest color. The car’s yellow anti-fog light can penetrate through thick thick fog and shoot far away. Due to the backscattering relationship, the driver of the rear car turns on the headlights, which increases the background intensity and blurs the image of the front car.

Use

The function of the fog lamp is to let other vehicles see the car when the visibility of the fog or rain is greatly affected by the weather, so the light source of the fog lamp needs to have a strong penetrability. Ordinary vehicles use halogen fog lamps, and LED fog lamps are more advanced than halogen fog lamps.

The installation position of the fog lamp can only be below the bumper and the body is closest to the ground to ensure the function of the fog lamp. If the installation position is high, the light cannot penetrate the rain to illuminate the ground at all (the fog is generally below 1 meter) It is thinner), which is easy to cause danger.

Because the fog light switch is generally divided into three gears, the 0 gear is closed, the first gear controls the front fog lights, and the second gear controls the rear fog lights. The front fog lights work when the first gear is turned on, and the front fog lights work together when the two gears are turned on. Therefore, when turning on the fog lights, it is recommended to know in which gear the switch is, so as to facilitate yourself without affecting others and ensure driving safety.
