Electromagnetic clutch

Electromagnetic clutch is also called electromagnetic coupling. It is an electromagnetic mechanical connection that uses the principle of electromagnetic induction and the friction between the inner and outer friction plates to make two rotating parts in the mechanical transmission system. The driven part can be combined or separated with it without stopping the rotation of the active part. Device is an automatic electrical appliance. Electromagnetic clutch can be used to control the starting, reverse, speed regulation and braking of machinery. It has simple structure, fast action, small control energy, and convenient for long-distance control. Although small in size, it can transmit large torque. When used as brake control, it has the advantages of rapid and smooth braking, so the electromagnetic clutch is widely used. It is widely used in various processing machines and mechanical transmission systems.

Definitions and materials

The electromagnetic clutch refers to a friction clutch that generates a pressing force by an electromagnetic force. Because it can realize long-distance operation and low control energy, it is convenient to realize the automation of machine tools. At the same time, it has fast movement and simple structure, and has also been widely used.

The role of the electromagnetic clutch is to transmit the torque (or power) of the actuator from the driving shaft side to the driven shaft side. It is widely used in various mechanisms (such as transmission mechanisms in machine tools and various electric mechanisms, etc.) to achieve functions such as quick start, braking, forward and reverse or speed regulation. Because the electromagnetic clutch is easy to implement long-distance control, and it is much simpler to operate than other mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic clutches, it is an important element in automatic control systems.

Classification

There are two types of electromagnetic clutches: fixed coil type and rotary coil type. The former electromagnetic coil is fixed on the compressor casing and does not rotate, and the latter electromagnetic coil is connected with the reel to rotate.
(1) Fixed coil clutch
The electromagnetic coil is installed on the end cover of the compressor and does not rotate. The rotor is held on the electromagnetic coil by the bearing and the spring. The outer part of the rotor is a reel. An armature (clutch plate) is mounted on the end of the compressor crankshaft. The fixed coil electromagnetic clutch is mainly composed of a pulley, an electromagnetic coil, a pressure plate, and a hub assembly. One end of the electromagnetic coil is grounded, and the other end is connected to a power source through an air conditioning relay. When the air-conditioning switch is turned on, the air relay is turned on, and the electromagnetic coil of the compressor is energized to generate a strong magnetic field, which causes the compressor’s electromagnetic clutch driven disk and the freely rotating pulley to engage, thereby driving the compressor’s main shaft to rotate , The refrigeration system works. When the air-conditioning relay is de-energized, the current of the electromagnetic clutch coil is cut off, and the magnetic field disappears. At this time, the driven disk is separated from the pulley by the action of the spring, so that the compressor stops working.

(2) Rotary coil clutch
Its working principle is the same as the fixed coil clutch, but the position of the electromagnetic coil is different. In the rotating coil type structure, the electromagnetic coil is a part of the rotor, and rotates together with the rotor, and a current flows into the electromagnetic coil through a brush mounted on the compressor to establish a magnetic field. The magnetic field brings the armature into contact with the rotor, and the rotation of the entire electromagnetic clutch device consisting of the armature, the rotor, and the coil drives the compressor to rotate.
These two electromagnetic clutches have several current collecting grooves on the armature and rotor to facilitate the accumulation of magnetic fields and increase the attractive force of the two.

Function and characteristics

1. High-speed response: Because it is a dry type, the torque is transmitted quickly, and convenient movement can be achieved.

2, strong durability: good heat dissipation, and the use of advanced materials, even high frequency, high energy use, very durable.

3. Easy to assemble and maintain: It belongs to the static shape of the magnetic coil embedded in the ball bearing, so there is no need to take out the core and use carbon brushes, and it is easy to use.

4, the action is indeed: the use of plate-shaped springs, although there is strong vibration will not produce loose, good durability.
