Asynchronous generator

Asynchronous generator is also called "induction generator". An alternator using the air gap rotating magnetic field between the stator and the rotor to interact with the induced current in the rotor windings. The rotation of the rotor is the same as that of the rotating magnetic field, but the speed is slightly higher than the synchronous speed of the rotating magnetic field. Commonly used as a low power hydro-generator.

Definition

Asynchronous generator is an alternator that uses the air gap rotating magnetic field between the stator and the rotor to interact with the induced current in the rotor windings. It is also called “induction generator” according to the working principle. The speed is slightly higher than the synchronous speed. The output power increases and decreases with the slip rate. Can be excited by the grid or self-excitation with power capacitors.

6.The stator windings and bearings are fitted with the platinum the thermostat PT100 for monitoring and controlling the winding and bearing temperatures.

7.The bearings are quipped with an automatic grease-charging system and a manual grease-charging system, for user’s free operation selection.

8.The slipping system is fitted with a brush-worn alarm unit.

Function and benefits

⑴Asynchronous generator-equipped power stations do not require a DC excitation system, the same period of installation, the power station investment costs are low.

⑵Since there are no slip rings, brushes, and rotor field windings, maintenance and operating costs are low.

(3) Asynchronous generator rotors are similar to rotor windings of hidden poles and non-synchronous generators, so their general efficiency is higher than that of synchronous generators with the same capacity and the same speed. Under the same water source, asynchronous generators can be used to generate more power.
