Good product, good way

What to do if the hoist cannot be braked during descent?

Chain hoist is the most important tool in powerless lifting operation. With the increase of powerless operation, the problems occur accordingly. Today we’re talking about the the braking problem when the hoist is lowered.

There are two occasions the hoist cannot be braked when it is lowered:

  1. There is grease on the brake pads or ratchet brake pads. When grease appears on the brake pads and ratchet brake pads, the brake pads cannot be effectively braked when they are lowered, and the pawls cannot be effectively locked in the ratchet grooves, which will result in failure to brake when they descend.

  2. The nut is not tightened. When the chain hoist is lowered, the force will directly act on the brake through the screw on the long shaft. If the nut is not tight enough, it will cause the hoist unable to brake.

Whichever of the two situations described will affect the normal operation of the chain hoist, which will seriously threaten your personal safety, so be sure to perform timely repairs to avoid affecting your work.
